The Poetry Association of Scotland is a registered charity (SCO14388), founded in 1924 to promote public readings of the best poetry from all over the world.

Annual Membership of the Association costs £20, concessions £15.  This gives you entry to all meetings, puts you on the mailing list and gives you voting rights.

For non-members, entry to meetings is £5 (concs £3)

Storyteller, playwright and Director of the Scottish Storytelling Centre, Donald Smith performed some of his own poetry and talked about  “Private Poetry and Public Speakings”.

Her poems, novels and plays vividly reflect Scottish history and culture; transcending borders with their scope and imagination. They have been translated into many languages. Tonight we hear her poems in Scots and English.

We are delighted to be hosting the launch of John Glenday’s new book of poems “Grain”.   His poetry has a lyric intensity and clarity, finding  the numinous in the everyday, sometimes bizarre happenings of our lives.

The Autumn Season ended on 25th November with a full house for the launch of John Glenday’s new collection ‘Grain’. The session was opened by Joyce Caplan (top right) with a personal introduction by Andrew Greig and one of the poems set to music by Kim Edgar  (www.kimedgar.com)
